MoS Electronics & Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at combating platform misconduct. Chandrasekhar revealed plans for the introduction of a Rule Seven officer, tasked with overseeing a streamlined reporting process for citizens to flag instances of law violations by digital platforms to the Government of India.
Highlighting the role of the Rule Seven officer, Chandrasekhar emphasized the creation of a user-friendly digital platform. This platform aims to simplify the reporting of alleged violations, allowing citizens to easily bring attention to any misconduct observed on various digital platforms.
The Rule Seven officer will also be a person who will create a platform where it will be very easy for citizens to bring to the attention of the Government of India their notices or allegations or reports of violation of law by the platforms. And the Rule Seven officer will take that digital platform information and respond accordingly. So we'll make it very simple for the citizen to report violations of law by platforms to the government, explained Chandrasekhar.
