Belagavi:Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has welcomed Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti’s assurance to allocate two days in the winter session for discussions on the development of North Karnataka.

Rakshana Vedike Belagavi District President Deepak Gudaganatti has urged Horatti to include the ban on MES (Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti) in the list of discussion topics. He alleged that MES has been disrupting peace in border areas like Belagavi by inciting Marathis for political gain and disrespecting Kannada sentiments through their anti-state activities, including observing a Black Day on Karnataka Rajyotsava.

The district administration has assured strict action against illegal activities and denied permission for the Maratha Mahamelava this time, which Rakshana Vedike has welcomed.

The demand for banning MES is expected to be a key point in the upcoming Belagavi session.
