Bengaluru:Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued a call for a protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar on February 7, urging members of the BJP Karnataka, including MPs, MLAs, and leaders, to join in. The protest is centered around raising a collective voice for the state's rights and addressing unmet commitments from the Union Government.

Expressing commitment to honoring the trust bestowed upon them by the citizens, Siddaramaiah emphasizes the anticipation of adherence to federal principles by the Union Government. He notes that the protest is not politically motivated against the BJP but is aimed at highlighting what the state government perceives as unfair treatment.

The focal points of the protest include the delayed release of Rs 5,300 crores for the Upper Bhadra scheme, as announced in the last year's budget, with no funds disbursed to date. Additionally, the Union Government has not provided any relief for drought, raising concerns about the welfare of the state and its citizens.

Siddaramaiah invites all parties to join the protest, framing it as a collective effort to demand justice for Kannadigas and ensure that concerns are heard by the Union Government. The Chief Minister stresses the non-partisan nature of the demonstration, urging all Indians to take notice of what he deems as an injustice. The protest underscores the broader issue of federal principles and the state's expectations from the Union Government, seeking resolution and attention to the grievances voiced by the Karnataka government.
