Belagavi:The winter session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly kicked off today at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi, focusing on regional development. The Belagavi Startups Association (BSA) has urged the government to prioritize the advancement of local startups during this session.
Belagavi, strategically located near major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Goa, and Andhra Pradesh, has significant potential to emerge as an innovation hub. However, despite hosting esteemed institutions such as Visvesvaraya Technological University and Rani Channamma University, the city falls short in providing sufficient opportunities for its skilled youth.
The BSA is calling on the government to take decisive action by setting up IT parks, boosting investments in local enterprises, and enacting startup-friendly policies. They emphasize that these measures are essential for job creation, talent retention, and fostering innovation in the area.
The government must take this seriously and act without delay. Belagavi cannot afford to be overlooked any longer,it’s time for tangible results, a representative from the BSA stated.
The association is also urging local leaders to bring this issue to the forefront during the session, ensuring that Belagavi receives the attention it rightfully deserves. With the city’s future on the line, all eyes are now on the government to take meaningful steps toward realizing its potential as a vibrant startup hub.
