SGBIT Principal Announces Internship Drive to Boost Local Talent

He proudly mentioned that many SGBIT students have secured jobs at various top companies, showcasing the quality of education and training they receive. In a bid to further support local talent, 16 startups from Belagavi have come together to form an association. 

This group is organizing a pool internship drive, which will be open to students from all local colleges. The Principal highlighted that this initiative will provide valuable hands-on experience for students, in line with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) guidelines that require internships for all students. 

The internship drive will take place on Saturday, 22nd June 2024, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Students from various fields will have the opportunity to participate, and many companies from different domains will be involved. By working with these startups, students will gain practical experience and get a feel for real-world projects, which will be crucial for their careers.

Harish Topannavar, one of the key organizers, shared his vision of making Belagavi a hub for startups. He acknowledged the current job market challenges, noting that many companies are not hiring at the moment. However, he emphasized that local companies are eager to support local talent.

Our goal is to turn Belagavi into a startup hub. By focusing on various projects, we can provide essential hands-on internship opportunities for students, helping them gain the experience they need,Topannavar said.
