COVID Cases Rise to 135 in Karnataka; CM Siddaramaiah Starts Helpline

COVID-19 cases in Karnataka have gone up to 135, with 80 still active. Most of these, 73, are in Bengaluru. So far, 3,981 people have been tested. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah held a meeting with health and education officials to check the state's readiness.

The rise in cases was seen not only in Karnataka but also in nearby states Kerala (95),Tamil Nadu (66),and Maharashtra (56). Officials said the spike started in the fourth week of May, with at least one serious case.

To help the public, the CM launched a special COVID helpline and told health workers to stay on duty. He also asked for more medical supplies like oxygen, ventilators, and medicines. He assured people not to panic but advised extra care for older adults and vulnerable groups, and reminded everyone to wear masks for safety.
