India Becomes World’s 4th Biggest Economy, Overtakes Japan
ndia has now become the 4th largest economy in the world, officially overtaking Japan, according to NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam. He announced that India’s economy has reached $4 trillion in size.

This big achievement was shared during a meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council. Mr. Subrahmanyam said that the current global and local conditions are very supportive of India’s growth.

He explained that only the United States, China, and Germany are ahead of India now. If India continues with its current plans and policies, the country could become the 3rd largest economy in the world in the next 2.5 to 3 years, possibly by 2027.

He also mentioned data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to confirm that India’s economy is now larger than Japan’s.
In response to a question about former US President Donald Trump’s comment where he said he wants Apple iPhones sold in the US to be made in America instead of countries like India Mr. Subrahmanyam indirectly highlighted India’s growing role in global manufacturing and trade.
