30 Year Old Lady Doctor Killed by Husband and In Laws in Belagavi Over Health and Childlessness

Belagavi, Karnataka  In a deeply disturbing incident, 30-year-old Dr. Renuka Santosh Honakande was allegedly murdered by her husband and in-laws for not being able to conceive and because of her health condition, including epilepsy.

The tragic incident happened on May 18, 2025. Police say Renuka was often harassed by her husband Santosh Honakande and his parents, Jayashree and Kamanna Honakande. On the day of the crime, they tried to make her death look like a road accident by tying her body to a motorcycle and dragging it for over 100 meters.

However, police investigations and forensic reports proved it was a planned murder. All three accused have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody. The investigation is still ongoing.

This case has shocked the entire state and raised serious concerns about domestic abuse and the stigma around women’s health and infertility
