6 Years of Unity: Hindus and Muslims Together Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi
In a symbolic gesture of communal harmony, the village of Ugar Budruk in the Kagwad taluk of Chikkodi has been celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi as a festival of Hindu-Muslim unity. For the past six years, Hindu and Muslim youth have come together to install a Ganesh idol at the Myausbani Dargah in the village.
According to the local committee,Just as Hindus participate in Muslim festivals like Urs and Eid Milad, we all celebrate these occasions with a sense of unity, without any division. We live like brothers and celebrate both Hindu and Islamic festivals in a spirit of togetherness.
This joint celebration of festivals by people of different faiths serves as a shining example of communal harmony, fostering peace and goodwill in the village.
