CBDT Extends Tax Audit Report Filing Deadline to October 31, 2025
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date for filing tax audit reports for the Assessment Year 2025–26 (Previous Year 2024–25). Initially set for September 30, 2025, the deadline has now been pushed to October 31, 2025. The extension comes after representations from professional bodies and taxpayers, who highlighted difficulties caused by floods, natural calamities, and other disruptions. The move is expected to provide much-needed relief to businesses and professionals, ensuring smoother compliance without last-minute stress.
