IOA announced WFI election dates

Delhi :The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has planned to hold the upcoming Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) elections on July 4 and has appointed former Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice Mahesh Mittal Kumar as the election officer.

Elections will have to be held at the special general meeting of WFI convened on July 4, 2023 and the schedule of elections will have to be drawn accordingly.

The country's leading wrestlers, including Asian Games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat and Olympic medalists Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, are currently protesting against WFI president Brij Bhushan Singh and demanding his arrest for allegedly sexually harassing women grapplers.
