Panchayat Raj Assistant Executive Engineer Caught in Lokayukta Raid

Belagavi: Lokayukta officials, led by Belagavi Lokayukta DySP Bharat Reddy, raided the house of Mahadev Bannur, an assistant executive engineer of the district panchayat. Early in the morning, Lokayukta officials conducted raids at four locations: Mahadev's residence in Yallur village, his son's house in Vijayanagar, a farmhouse in Honaga, and a house in Gokak city.

A team of twenty staff members carried out the raid under the leadership of four officials. Four months ago, Mahadev Bannur was caught taking money from a contractor, during which ₹27 lakh in cash was found in his house. Since then, Lokayukta officials have been keeping a close watch on him.
