25 Crore Workers Set to Strike Nationwide in Bharat Bandh on July 9
On Wednesday, July 9, over 25 crore (250 million) workers across India are expected to take part in a massive nationwide strike Bharat Bandh led by a coalition of 10 major central trade unions. The protest aims to challenge what organizers are calling "anti-worker, anti-farmer, and pro-corporate" policies of the government.

The strike is gaining widespread support, particularly from rural workers and farmers, and is likely to affect several sectors including banking, postal services, coal mining, factory operations, and public transport. Leaders like Amarjeet Kaur from AITUC and Harbhajan Singh Sidhu from HMS have confirmed that both formal and informal sector workers are actively preparing for the protest. The industrial action is expected to cause major disruptions in essential services across the country.
