ATM looter arrested: belagavi SP

Belagavi : 37,500 rupees after knowing the password of the woman who went to the ATM on the pretext of helping her. District Superintendent of Police Dr. Sanjeeva Patila said.

Talking to reporters at the office of the District Superintendent of Police on Tuesday, he said,

When a woman named Vijaya Ranappa of Halatti village of Chikkodi taluk went to withdraw money from the ATM on 3rd, a person on the pretext of helping her got a card extension and withdrew Rs 37,500 from her account. He complained about withdrawing money. A case was registered in Chikkodi police station and investigation was carried out.

Accused Amul Dina Sakhte (30) was arrested and a total of 51 ATM cards of different banks were seized from him for cheating different people. He said that the accused had committed similar crimes in Athani, Gokak, Nippani, Chikkodi, Bagalkot and many other parts of Maharashtra state and the investigation was on.
