CM Siddaramaiah Slams PM Modi, Vows Congress Victory in Karnataka

Belagavi : In a press conference held in Belagavi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated the commitment of the Congress party to fulfil its promises ahead of the looming Lok Sabha elections.

Emphasising the importance of the upcoming election day on May 7th, Siddaramaiah assured the public that every effort was being made to reach out to each individual. Highlighting the efficacy of the Congress-led government's initiatives, Siddaramaiah pointed out the successful implementation of various guarantees.

He particularly lauded the impact of schemes such as free bus travel for over 202 crore women, the Anna Bhagya Yojana providing 7 kg of rice free of cost, and the provision of free electricity to households consuming below 200 kv.

However, Siddaramaiah did not shy away from criticizing the BJP-led central government, accusing them of slashing essential benefits like reducing rice allocation from 7 kg to 5 kg and neglecting Karnataka's financial needs. Expressing dismay over the BJP's alleged misinformation campaign, Siddaramaiah condemned attempts to discredit the Congress's achievements.

He also took a swipe at Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of divisive rhetoric and failure to deliver on promises during his tenure. In contrast, Siddaramaiah praised Rahul Gandhi's efforts, including the Bharat Jodo and Nyay Yatra, aimed at connecting with people across India.

He urged voters to support the Congress in the upcoming elections, assuring them of victory in both phases. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and other party members, Siddaramaiah's press meet underscored the significance of the impending elections and the Congress's resolve to secure a strong mandate in Karnataka.
