Cyclonic System in Arabian Sea Likely to Bring Heavy Rain to Belagavi
Belagavi:The weather in Belagavi is likely to take a sharp turn as a cyclonic circulation brewing over the Arabian Sea starts to gain strength. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD),the upper air circulationcurrently hovering off the North Karnataka-Goa coast is showing signs of intensifying. A low pressure area is expected to form in the same region within the next 12 hours and could strengthen into a depression within the following 36 hours.

While the system itself is situated over the sea, Belagavi isn’t too far from its influence zone. Moisture-laden winds and cloud bands pushed inland by the circulation are expected to bring widespread rainfall to the region. Residents may experience sudden downpours, thunderstorms, and increased wind activity over the next few days.

The atmosphere in the city has already turned humid and overcast, a telltale sign of shifting weather. Local authorities are on alert, and people are being advised to stay updated with forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain. With pre-monsoon conditions intensifying, the coming days are likely to be wet and stormy across North Karnataka, including Belagavi.
