GSS College Belagavi to Host Grand Alumni Reunion on December 28
Belagavi: The Alumni Association of GSS College, Belagavi, has announced a grand alumni reunion, set to take place on December 28 on the college grounds. The announcement was made during a press conference addressed by Principal Arvind Halgekar.
Principal Halgekar expressed his joy over the college attaining autonomous status, calling it a proud moment for the institution and its alumni. The reunion, titled Mahamela, is an opportunity to celebrate this achievement and reconnect with old friends on the college premises,he said. The event aims to bring together alumni from the college’s first batch to the most recent graduates.
The ex-students association has formed a dedicated committee to oversee the reunion’s planning and execution. Efforts are underway to reach as many former students as possible through various communication channels. “This is likely the first time in the college’s history that all alumni will come together for such a large-scale event,” Halgekar added.
Kuldeep Hungirgekar, Head of the Mahamela Committee, highlighted the significance of the gathering, calling it a golden opportunity for former students to reconnect. We are working hard to make this event truly unforgettable, he said. Several sub-committees have been formed to manage different aspects of the event, with responsibilities distributed among organizers.
The reunion is expected to host around 2,000 participants, with over 500 alumni already registered online, Hungirgekar informed.
Prominent figures such as Principal In-Charge Abhay Samant, Secretary of the Alumni Association Prof. Sandeep Deshpande, Secretary of the Mahamela Committee Prof. Anil Khandekar, and Adv. Samina Baig were also present at the press conference, along with other office bearers.
