Heavy Vehicle Traffic Near School Poses Safety Risk

Belagavi: Heavy vehicles passing through Dr. S.P.M. Road Cross No. 1, a residential area where a school is located, have raised serious safety concerns. In a letter addressed to Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil, the school management highlighted the danger posed to students and staff.

The situation had improved for four years following the construction of New Mahatma Phule Road, which diverted heavy traffic. However, the recent withdrawal of a public permit has once again led to heavy vehicles passing in front of the school gate, creating an accident-prone area.

Before 2017, similar conditions led to several accidents, including life-threatening injuries to students and staff. Tragically, four students lost their lives due to major accidents caused by the traffic flow.

The school has urged MLA Abhay Patil to take immediate action to control heavy traffic in the area to ensure the safety of students and prevent further incidents.
