India launched Vikram-S the first private rocket developed by an Indian startup

India's first privately developed launch vehicle Vikram-S lifted off from the Sriharikota space station on November 18 at 11.30 am IST. The mission was named Praramb or 'Aaramba'.

The rocket developed by startup Skyroot Aerospace, marks the private sector's foray into the country's space industry.

Skyroot Vikram-S rocket is built using advanced technologies including carbon composite structures and 3D-printed components.
The Vikram-S series will help test most of the technologies on the orbital class space launch vehicles, including many sub-systems and technologies.
