Kochi Convention Center Explosion: One Fatality and 20+ Injured

Kochi : A devastating explosion rocked a convention center in Kalamassery on Sunday morning, resulting in one fatality and more than 20 individuals sustaining injuries, according to local authorities. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the initial blast occurred during a prayer session.

Kerala's Industries Minister, P. Rajeev, announced that the blast site has been sealed off, with both police and fire rescue teams deployed to respond to the incident. In a swift response, Kerala's Health Minister, Veena George, has issued a directive for all government healthcare professionals to report for duty following the tragedy.

Expressing concern over the incident, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated, "It's a very unfortunate incident. We are collecting details regarding the incident. All top officials are there in Ernakulam. DGP is moving to the spot. We are taking it very seriously. I have spoken to DGP. We need to get more details after the investigation."
