Belagavi:In an effort to beautify Belagavi, the city corporation, as part of the Smart City initiative, placed cement plant bowls along various streets.

These bowls were intended to hold plants and enhance the city’s greenery. However, many of these bowls are now empty, and residents are growing increasingly frustrated. The project started with high hopes, as people looked forward to a greener, more attractive city.

Unfortunately, the bowls have been left unplanted for some time, and they now sit unused and empty. What was meant to be a positive addition to the city is now seen as a symbol of broken promises.
Residents have voiced their disappointment, noting that the empty plant bowls are now just eyesores. "It's disheartening to see such a good idea go to waste," said one local.
"The empty bowls serve no purpose and only remind us of what could have been."
Many citizens are urging the government and the Belagavi City Corporation to address this issue. There is a strong call for action to ensure the plant bowls are filled with suitable plants and properly maintained. This would not only fulfil the original goal of the project but also restore public trust.
It’s crucial for the authorities to take action. By revitalising the plant bowls and setting up a regular maintenance plan, they can show their commitment to improving the city's environment.
This situation also highlights the need for continuous oversight and community involvement in city projects.
