Raid Conducted in Hindalga Jail, Belagavi; Contraband Items Seized

Belagavi : A raid was conducted early this morning at Hindalga Jail under the leadership of the Commissioner. Around 40 officers, along with over 220 personnel of various ranks, participated in this well-planned operation, which began at approximately 5 AM.

During the raid, authorities seized several prohibited items, including three knives, ten tobacco sachets, a cigarette, a small bundle of heater wire, and a makeshift electric stove made from bricks. These findings raise serious concerns about security within the prison.

A case has been registered at the Belagavi Rural Police Station (BRPS) following the discovery of these items. Authorities are expected to carry out a thorough investigation to determine how the contraband was smuggled into the jail and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
