
Siddaramaiah Meets PM Modi, Demands Action on Karnataka’s Pending Projects and Fund Delays
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss various pressing developmental matters concerning the state. During the meeting, the CM emphasized the need for environmental clearance for the long-pending Mahadayi River project, which is crucial for addressing water scarcity in the state.

Siddaramaiah also raised concerns over the delay in receiving ₹5,300 crore promised by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Despite assurances, the funds are yet to be disbursed, impacting several state projects.

Additionally, the CM urged the central government to address Karnataka’s financial needs as outlined in the 15th Finance Commission, which recommended ₹11,495 crore for the state. Siddaramaiah requested the issues be resolved in the upcoming 16th Finance Commission to ensure the state’s growth and development are not hindered.
