Siddaramaiah Reacts to Central Budget: Karnataka Ignored Yet Again

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed deep disappointment with the Central government’s budget announcement today, stating that the state’s pressing needs, particularly in disaster relief and development, have been overlooked once again.

Despite Karnataka’s recurring struggles with floods, droughts, and infrastructure challenges, Siddaramaiah lamented that the budget failed to address the state’s demands for increased funding and fair treatment.The Central government has once again turned a blind eye to Karnataka’s plight. This is not just neglect,it’s an injustice to the people of our state, he said.

No Increase in NDRF/SDRF Funds:Despite repeated appeals, the budget did not allocate additional funds for disaster management, leaving Karnataka vulnerable to natural calamities.  
Unfair Allocation Norms:The outdated norms for disaster relief remain unchanged, making it harder for Karnataka to access the support it desperately needs.  
Neglect in Development Projects:The budget failed to allocate sufficient funds for critical infrastructure and development projects in the state.  

Disaster relief is not a favor—it is our right:Siddaramaiah asserted, his voice reflecting the frustration of millions of Kannadigas. He emphasized that Karnataka contributes significantly to the nation’s economy but continues to be sidelined when it comes to receiving its fair share of resources.
