Belagavi:In a bid to galvanize support ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP Raita Morcha organized a spirited rally in Belagavi, Karnataka. Led by President S.S. Patil, the rally highlighted the pressing issues facing farmers across the country, particularly in Karnataka.

With the election day slated for May 7th in Karnataka, Patil emphasized the pivotal role of farmers in shaping the political landscape. He launched a scathing attack on the Congress, accusing them of neglecting farmers' welfare and obstructing crucial government initiatives aimed at their upliftment.

Patil underscored the BJP's commitment to farmers, citing initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, which provided financial assistance of ₹6,000 to farmers, complemented by an additional ₹4,000 from the state government under Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
However, he lamented that these efforts were stymied by the Congress, leaving farmers in the lurch. Highlighting the plight of farmers, Patil criticized the Congress for halting essential projects like subsidized borewells, which were previously available for ₹24,000 but now cost farmers significantly more. He also denounced the cessation of scholarships for farmers' children, a move initiated by former BJP Chief Minister Bommai. Patil accused the Congress of making hollow promises in their manifesto without fulfilling them in practice.
He lambasted the government for withholding funds amounting to ₹717 crore earmarked for farmers' welfare, further exacerbating their plight. Patil asserted that under BJP rule, over 13 lakh farmers benefitted from government assistance during natural disasters, whereas the current Congress government has failed to implement crucial irrigation projects, leading to hardships for farmers.
Patil urged voters to support BJP candidates Shettar and Annasaheb Jolle in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing that their victory would herald a new era of prosperity for farmers in Karnataka.
