Belagavi: In a recent development, Raju Toppanavar has brought attention to alleged irregularities surrounding the Tinisu Katte food court located in the Belagavi South constituency. Toppanavar, a vocal figure, has raised concerns about the construction process, citing potential violations of government regulations and discrepancies in the allocation of spaces within the food court.

The food court, funded through the Belagavi Smart City initiative and falling under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD),has come under scrutiny due to what Toppanavar claims is a lack of adequate publicity during the advertisement phase. He alleges that this led to a limited scope of awareness among the public regarding the project.

Moreover, Toppanavar has alleged that the previous leadership from the BJP sought to influence the allocation of the food court, potentially favoring specific individuals or groups. He pointed out disparities between the allottees, trade license holders, and the actual operators of the businesses within the food court, indicating a possible lack of transparency or fairness in the process.
Of particular concern to Toppanavar is the absence of digital transactions within the food court operations. He suggests that this could potentially result in funds being channeled to undisclosed or unauthorized entities, bypassing transparency measures.
Toppanavar has taken decisive action by filing an official complaint with the PWD, urging higher authorities to launch a thorough investigation into the matter. His primary demand is for a re-auction of the Tinisu Katte area, emphasizing the need for a fair and transparent process that ensures deserving beneficiaries have equitable opportunities within the food court premises.
As these allegations continue to draw attention, calls for a comprehensive inquiry and corrective actions are gaining momentum, with stakeholders eager to ensure accountability and fairness in the utilization of public funds and resources.
