Gvt implemented Face Authentication Technology in EPFO ​​System

To facilitate pensioners, Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare (DOPPW),Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) and UIDAI have developed Face Authentication Technology (FAT) for submission of digital life certificate.

This technology is implemented in EPFO ​​system. Use of facial authentication technology can be especially helpful if pensioners face difficulties in capturing their bio-metrics (fingerprint/iris) due to old age or health problem.

Other advantages of submitting DLCs through face authentication method:
1. Pensioners can file their DLC sitting at home. No need to visit Bank, Post Office, CSC etc.
2. Pensioners themselves can act as "Operator" and Beneficiary through Jeevan Praman Application and Face Recognition Application of UIDAI.
3. Any person or family member can be "Operator" to install the app, Jeevan Praman app (apk file) can also be used after installing "AadhaarFaceRd" app from Google Play Store. It will definitely help old age, disabled and bed ridden pensioners who are not in a condition to visit CSC, Bank, Post Office etc. to renew their DLC.
4. Pensioners residing abroad can submit their DLC without visiting India.
5. There is no dependency on any externally registered device and this becomes a milestone for future technological advancement.
