IAF and FAFS set to conduct Exercise Garuda

The stage is set for the seventh edition of 'Exercise Garuda' between the IAF and FASF, a two-week exercise that will provide a platform for both the participating forces to enhance their operational synergy and exchange best practices.

The Indian Air Force and the French Air and Space Force (FASF) are participating in the bilateral Exercise 'Garuda' from October 26 to November 12 at Air Force Station, Jodhpur.

The FASF will participate with four Rafale fighter jets, one A-330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft and a contingent of 220 personnel.  The IAF is participating with Su-30 MKI, Rafale, LCA Tejas and Jaguar fighter jets, as well as Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Mi-17 helicopters.

The IAF contingent also includes combat enablement assets such as in-flight refueling aircraft, AWACS and AEW&C.  This joint exercise provides a platform for both countries to enhance operational capability and interoperability and share best practices.
